Privacy Policy

DVCOM Inc. · Last updated: August 10, 2026

At DVCOM, we collect personal information for a simple reason: to respond to your requests and improve our services. This page explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and how you stay in control. We wrote it in plain language, as Quebec law requires — and because it is the least we can do.

This policy applies to the dvcom.ca website and to all services offered by DVCOM Inc.

1. Who is responsible for your personal information

Person in charge of the protection of personal information

Email: [email protected] · Phone: 514-571-3824

This person approves our governance practices, handles your requests for access and correction, and is the one to contact with any complaint regarding your personal information.

2. The personal information we collect

What you provide yourself

When you fill out our contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number and the content of your message. These are the only fields on the form; you decide what to write in them.

If you write to us directly, or if we work together on a mandate, we keep the information you share with us in that context: business contact details, information about your company, and any technical access you entrust to us.

We never ask for sensitive information — no health information, no biometric information, no social insurance number, no financial data. Please do not send us any through the form.

We have no newsletter, and we do not load your contact details into a contact-management system. Your requests arrive by email, and they stay there.

What is collected automatically

When you browse dvcom.ca, certain technical information is collected: IP address (truncated by our measurement tools), device and browser type, pages viewed, length of visit, where your visit came from, and — only if you consent — an anonymized recording of your interactions with the page (mouse movements, scrolling, clicks).

Our free diagnostic tools

The site’s ten self-assessment tools run entirely in your browser. The answers you enter and the results displayed are never sent to us and are not stored anywhere on our servers: they disappear when you close the tab. When a tool analyzes the address of a website you submit, that address passes through our server for the duration of the analysis, without being recorded.

In other words: you can use our tools without leaving us the slightest trace, and without giving us your email.

3. Why we collect it

We use your personal information to:

  • respond to your request and provide the information or quote you asked for;
  • carry out our mandates when you become a client;
  • improve our website by understanding which pages are useful and which are not;
  • measure our marketing activities, so we know what brings us clients;
  • meet our legal and accounting obligations.

Each purpose is distinct. We do not redirect information collected for one reason to another use without informing you and obtaining your consent.

4. On what basis we process it

Collection is based on your consent, given freely and knowingly. When you fill out the contact form, you consent to our using your contact details to reply to you. When you accept audience-measurement cookies in our banner, you consent to that measurement — and you can reverse that choice at any time.

Some information is necessary to perform a contract concluded with you, or to meet our legal obligations; in those cases we keep it for the required period, even after consent is withdrawn.

5. Cookies and tracking technologies

Our site uses cookies and equivalent technologies. Some are essential, others are not — and for those, you decide.

CategoryWhat it is forSet without your consent?
Necessary cookiesMaking the site work, remembering your language choice and privacy preferences, protecting forms against bots (Cloudflare Turnstile)Yes — the site cannot function without them
Audience measurementGoogle Analytics 4: counting visits, understanding how visitors move through the site, measuring page performanceNo — only if you accept
Experience analysisMicrosoft Clarity: heatmaps and anonymized recording of interactions, to spot what gets in the way on a pageNo — only if you accept

These tools are loaded through Google Tag Manager.

How to refuse or change your mind. A consent banner appears on your first visit. You can reopen that panel at any time using the cookie icon at the bottom left of the screen, and change your choices. You can also block or delete cookies directly in your browser settings; some features of the site may then work less well.

By default, no non-essential cookie is activated until you have given your consent.

6. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent it and we do not trade it.

We use service providers that process certain information on our behalf, only to the extent their mandate requires:

  • Google (Analytics, Tag Manager) — audience measurement;
  • Microsoft (Clarity) — user-experience analysis;
  • Cloudflare — site delivery, security, and protection of forms against bots;
  • ShortPixel / ExactDN — optimized image delivery;
  • DataEnLigne — hosting;
  • Google Workspace — receiving and storing our email.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to assert our rights in the event of a dispute.

7. Communication outside Quebec

Several of our service providers are based outside Quebec, mainly in the United States: Google, Microsoft, Cloudflare and ShortPixel. Your information may therefore be processed or stored outside Quebec, in countries whose privacy laws differ from those of Quebec.

Before using these providers, we assess whether the protection they offer is adequate, and we govern these communications through the contractual data-protection commitments these providers offer. We also limit what is sent to them: our audience-measurement tools are configured never to receive your contact details.

8. How long we keep it

InformationRetention period
Requests received through the contact form, with no follow-up24 months
Client files and communications related to a mandateDuration of the mandate, then 7 years (accounting and tax obligations)
Audience-measurement data (Google Analytics)24 months
Interaction recordings (Microsoft Clarity)24 months
Answers entered in our diagnostic toolsNone — nothing is kept

At the end of these periods, the information is destroyed or irreversibly anonymized.

9. How we protect it

The site is served over HTTPS, forms are protected against automated submissions, administrative access is limited to the people who need it and protected by authentication, and our tools are kept up to date. No system is infallible, but we take these measures seriously — it is also our line of work.

10. Your rights

Quebec law grants you several rights over your personal information. At any time, you may:

  • find out what information we hold about you and obtain a copy of it;
  • have corrected any information that is inaccurate, incomplete or equivocal;
  • withdraw your consent to a given use, going forward;
  • request the deletion of information we no longer have a legitimate reason to keep;
  • receive your information in a structured, commonly used technological format, or ask that it be transferred to a third party — this is the right to data portability, in force since September 22, 2024;
  • request that the dissemination of information cease, or that it be de-indexed from a search engine, in the cases provided for by law.

Write to [email protected]. We reply within 30 days at most. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request, so as not to disclose your information to someone else.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec: cai.gouv.qc.ca.

11. Automated decisions and profiling

We make no decision about you based exclusively on automated processing. Our diagnostic tools produce indicative results, generated in your browser; they feed no profile and determine nothing about you.

Our audience-measurement tools observe aggregated browsing behaviour. They are not used to identify you individually or to build a profile of your personality, characteristics or habits.

12. Confidentiality incidents

We keep a register of confidentiality incidents. Should an incident presenting a risk of serious injury occur, we would promptly notify the Commission d’accès à l’information and the persons concerned, and take the necessary measures to limit its consequences.

13. Minors

Our services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect information about persons under the age of 14. If you believe this has happened, write to us and we will delete it.

14. Links to other websites

Our site sometimes links to third-party sites — social networks, tools, publications. This policy does not cover those sites: we invite you to read theirs.

15. Changes to this policy

We may amend this policy to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. The date of the last update appears at the top of the page. If we make a significant change to the way we use your information, we will inform you prominently on the site.
